Popular local moving and shredding company Gilmore Services has a sleek, modern new look- as well as a familiar yet abbreviated new name. In early July, the company rebranded to simply “Gilmore” and hosted members of the business community in a celebratory relaunch of their brand at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Gilmore specializes in document shredding, storage, scanning, and residential & commercial move services for businesses and residents across the southeast in beyond. Gilmore’s rebrand represents a renewed commitment to their values, allowing them to visually better honor their legacy of customer service, and reaffirm their position of “people-centered security.” It is almost meant as a way to honor their founders.
Gilmore was founded by James (Jim) Gilmore in 1955 the old-fashioned way: With one truck and one employee. Although the company has grown considerably since its humble beginnings, Gilmore is still a family-run business, passed down through the generations to Jim’s son, Ronnie, and today by Jim’s grandsons, Jacob and Lucas. The Gilmore family (which they say includes their 50-employee team) continues to deliver the standard of exemplary customer service which the business was founded on over sixty-five years ago.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which took place at the Gilmore Pensacola office on Fairfield Drive, four different local chamber of commerce organizations were in attendance. The Greater Pensacola Chamber, the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce, the Pensacola Beach Chamber, and the Gulf Breeze Chamber all were in attendance to celebrate with Gilmore staff, supporters, and extended family.
Gilmore is well-known in the Pensacola community for its annual Shred-A-Thon, in which they shred over 150,000 pounds of paper documents for free on-site for members of various communities across the Southeast.
“We are proud to call this community home, and honored to continue the legacy of our founder to serve the many communities beyond the Southeast,” said General Manager Whitney Lucas. “W aren’t just committed to delivering a service. We believe very much in delivering service excellence, because it’s the relationships we have with people that make the difference.”
