Last year, Fill the Mayflower, collected 90,000 meals for people in need in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. After a year plagued with COVID-19 and Hurricane Sally, donations are needed now more than ever.
The most needed food items include canned fruit (in 100% juice preferred), canned chicken, canned mixed vegetables, canned green vegetables (english peas, spinach, turnip greens), canned carrots, and canned yellow vegetables (squash, corn).
They’re asking people not to walk up with food, but instead just pull up in your car, and they’ll have volunteers pop the trunk and get that food out for you.
Monetary donations can also be made online at fillthemayflower.com.
