Sacred Heart Health System will soon begin construction of a $7 million, 28,000 square foot medical park on West Nine Mile Road, the company announced this week.

The medical park will be built on a five-acre site next to the existing Publix shopping center at West Nine Mile and Pine Forest Road. The property, located between the shopping center and the Milestone subdivision, was acquired by a holding company last year for $700,000.

As Navy Federal Credit Union’s Heritage Oaks campus has expanded, residential growth in the Beulah area has skyrocketed, with dozens of subdivision and apartment projects currently under development. A new middle school and elementary school are also under construction in the area.

The completed facility is expected to host three Sacred Heart Medical Group physicians, specialists including cardiologists and OB/GYNs, adult outpatient rehabilitation, and advanced diagnostic imaging, including mammography, CT, X-ray, MRI and ultrasound.

“As the Milestone area grows, so does the community’s need for specialized medical care,” said Susan Davis, president and CEO of Sacred Heart Health System. “Sacred Heart is committed to meeting that need. Our promise to provide personalized, compassionate care begins in our physician offices. By bringing healthcare closer to where people live and work, we can provide services that are more timely, which ultimately leads to better outcomes and quality of life for our patients.”

Sacred Heart’s announcement of the new medical park follows the company’s addition of new outpatient facilities in the Perdido and Tiger Point areas last summer. The Nine Mile Road medical park is expected to be similar in design to those facilities.
