The episode of the Food Network competition series “The Great Food Truck Race” which filmed in Pensacola back in May will air this Sunday, August 27.

The series’ eighth season premiered last Sunday. Hosted by Tyler Florence, the series features food truck teams which compete against one another in a series of challenges in different cities for a $50,000 cash prize. While past seasons have typically filmed across the country in a coast-to-coast road trip, the upcoming season will center around a Southern theme. The first episode featured the teams in New Orleans, and after Pensacola, the remaining teams will head to Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Nashville, Tenn.; and Athens, Ga., with the finale taking place in Savannah, Ga.

The food trucks competing this season include Braised in the South, of Charleston, S.C.; The Breakfast Club, of Philadelphia; Mr. Po’ Boys, of Dallas; Papi Chulo’s Empanadas, of Cherry Hill, N.J.; The Southern Frenchie, of Little Rock, Ark.; Stick ’Em Up, of Rogersville, Tenn.; and Wicked Good Seafood, of Falmouth, Mass.

The competition rolled into Pensacola for two days back in May to film at Naval Air Station Pensacola and at various locations downtown, including Pensacola City Hall, Palafox Street, the Pensacola Bay Brewery, and Joe Patti’s.

The Pensacola episode airs at 8:00 p.m. Central time on Sunday, August 27. Food Network is channel 68/1068 on Cox, channel 47/848 on Mediacom, channel 55/1202 on Spectrum, channel 231 on DIRECTV, and channel 110 on Dish Network.
