The Days Inn hotel on Pensacola Beach has been sold to new ownership and will rebrand as a Best Western following an extensive renovation later this year.

The acquisition is a joint venture between Gulf Breeze-based Innisfree Hotels and RREAF, a privately-held commercial real estate firm based in Dallas, Texas. Innisfree currently owns four other hotels on the beach — the Hilton, Holiday Inn Resort, Hampton Inn, and Travelodge — and a number of other hotels in Florida and four other states. RREAF currently owns the Innisfree-managed Beachside Resort and Bikini Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, Fla.

“When the Days Inn became available on Pensacola Beach, both companies thought it would be a great opportunity to strengthen our relationship and bring a bigger property into our respective portfolios,” said Mike Nixon, President of Innisfree Hotels.

The hotel, located at 16 Via de Luna, was originally branded as a Best Western.

“The years and several storm events have taken a toll on the property, leading to an eventual loss of the Best Western flag,” Nixon said. “Innisfree and RREAF have applied for and been granted a new Best Western agreement and will convert the property to its original name after an extensive renovation during the fall and winter of 2017.”

The 123-room Gulf front hotel currently features two outdoor pools, direct beach access, and a fitness center and offers guests free parking, free wi-fi, and free continental breakfast. Innisfree says visitors can expect a major upgrade to both the guest rooms and guest experience, with a new pool deck, splash pad, and Gulf front bar among the planned improvements. Renovations and rebranding are slated to be complete by late spring 2018.
