The episode of the Food Network competition series “The Great Food Truck Race” that was filmed in Pensacola this week will air on Sunday, August 20.
The series, hosted by Tyler Florence, features food truck teams which compete in a series of challenges in different cities for a cash prize. Food trucks from around the south rolled into Pensacola on Wednesday and Thursday to film an episode of the show’s eighth season. While past seasons have typically filmed across the country in a coast-to-coast road trip, the upcoming season will center around a Southern theme. The show filmed in New Orleans before coming to Pensacola and will film in Tuscaloosa, Ala. this weekend before continuing onto Nashville, Atlanta, and Savannah, Ga.
The visiting food trucks set up at a number of locations in Pensacola this week, including Naval Air Station Pensacola, Palafox Street, Pensacola City Hall, and the Community Maritime Park. Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward and Joe Patti’s seafood market are also featured in the episode.
Pensacola’s episode will be the second of the eight-episode season, which is set to premiere August 13. The Pensacola episode will air the following Sunday.
