As America’s oldest city, Pensacola is known to have its share of ghost stories and spirits roaming the centuries old streets and homes throughout downtown.

With All Hallows’ Eve right around the corner, the University of West Florida Historic Trust is getting into the spirit.

Historic Pensacola will host its 26th Annual Haunted House Walking and Trolley Tours this month on Oct. 22, 28 and 29, providing guests with several spooky scenarios to celebrate Halloween season.

Guests may choose from among three walking tour routes that last around one hour:

The Adults-Only Red-Light Tour, features an experience through Pensacola’s once infamous brothel district. Explore the haunted stories of Pensacola’s “other” history and learn the history of the likes of Molly McCoy and Slaps Johnson as you stroll down Pensacola’s Palafox Street. Madams. Prostitutes. Ghosts, oh my!

The Seville Spirits tour explores the haunted happenings around Seville Square. Follow your tour guide as they share the many spooky stories that can be found in this historic community.

The Murder and Mayhem tour explores what many believe to be the spookiest street in downtown Pensacola — Intendencia Street. Meet the Charbonier Sisters and hear the story of the House with the Terrible Table.
Those looking to cruise alongside the ghosts of North Hill may prefer the Trolley of the Doomed tour. Travel into North Hill’s haunted history and hear about the many ghosts that share the old homes with residents. The Trolley of the Doomed is a different route than the walking tours and shares none of the stories of the walking tours. Participants stay on the trolley for the entire tour, and children are welcome.

Walking tour tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children 12 and younger. Trolley of the Doomed tour tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger.

All tours depart from Voices of Pensacola presented by Gulf Power at 117 E. Government St. Tickets are available at or at Voices of Pensacola on the nights of the tours.
