Navy Federal Credit Union has once again been named to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list. The credit union’s ranking on the 2016 list marks the fifth consecutive year Navy Federal has been included on the list and their sixth appearance overall.

“Navy Federal is a great place to work,” said Cutler Dawson, President and CEO of Navy Federal. “Our team members are terrific and everyone strives to make our work environment the best possible. It’s simple – take good care of our employees and they take good care of our members.”

Navy Federal’s #44 ranking on the 2016 list is the highest in the credit union’s history.

The Vienna, Va.-based credit union is the largest in the world, serving more than 6 million members around the world. Navy Federal is also one of the largest employers in the Pensacola metro area, with more than 4,000 employees at the credit union’s Heritage Oaks campus in Beulah and area branches. A $245 million expansion at Heritage Oaks is expected to be completed by July, providing space for another 2,000 employees as Navy Federal continues to grow its operations in Pensacola. “Our talented workforce continues to reaffirm our reasons for growing to 10,000 employees in this area,” said Debbie Calder, Navy Federal’s executive vice president of Greater Pensacola Operations.

In recognizing Navy Federal, Fortune noted 95 percent of the credit union’s employees said they felt proud to tell others where they worked. “At Navy Federal, the strength and resilience of our corporate culture positively influences the work we do each day and contributes to the ability of our employees to make differences in our members’ lives,” Dawson said. “That’s something of which we are all very proud.”

Founded in 1933, Navy Federal Credit Union serves all Department of Defense and Coast Guard active duty, civilian, and contractor personnel and their families. The credit union has more than $74 billion in assets, more than 13,000 employees worldwide, and operates 280 branches in the United States and abroad.
