Recreational boat and yacht retailer, MarineMax announced today they have acquired the Bahia Mar Marina located on Bayou Chico in Pensacola.
Located on the historic bayou, Bahia Mar Marina is a full-service marina with a 50 ton travel lift, working boat yard, large dry storage and on-site facilities for fiberglass, paint and bottom work. This facility also has covered and open wet slips, as well as a ship’s store. Other amenities include laundry, showers, restrooms, and a fuel dock offering non-Ethanol gas, diesel, and pump-out services. Bahia Mar Marina is also home to The Oar House.
MarineMax purchased the property from Marina Management, founded by developer Ray Russenberger in 1996. Marina Management continues to operate the Palafox Pier, Baylen Slips and Seville Harbor marinas in downtown Pensacola.
In a statement, MarineMax said they have been a proud member of the Pensacola community for 13 years and with this acquisition will be relocating the sales and service operations on Airport Boulevard to this new waterfront facility, where they’ll combine all operations at one waterfront facility.
“MarineMax is more than a dealer, we are also a resource,” said Mark Breton, MarineMax PensacolaStore Manager. “Customers get access to a wealth of experience that can match them with the perfect boat from our unparalleled diversity of brands and models.”
MarineMax Pensacola at Bahia Mar Marina is equipped to provide a variety of services for most vessels. MarineMax says the marine will be open seven days a week from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, with extended hours in the summer.
“We’re all boaters with such passion for the water we can’t help but share it,” continued Breton. “We offer multiple platforms beyond boat sales to share our joy and enable our customers to do the same.”
An earlier version of this story said MarineMax had acquired both Bahia Mar Marina and The Oar House. The acquisition by MarineMax did not include The Oar House restaurant.
