Crestview accepting applications for City Council vacancy

The City of Crestview has begun accepting applications for the City Council vacancy created by the recent resignation of Council member Mickey Rytman.

Per the terms of Crestview’s city charter, the remaining Council members will appoint a replacement member to fill the remainder of Rytman’s term, ending April 3, 2017. Applicants must be residents of Crestview’s Precinct 3 and a registered voter in Okaloosa County.

Applications should include a name, address, and a statement of desire to serve the unexpired term, along with any other information deemed appropriate. Completed applications should be hand delivered, mailed, or delivered via courier to the Office of the City Clerk, 198 North Wilson Street, Post Office Drawer 1209, Crestview, FL 32536. Faxed or emailed applications cannot be accepted.

Rytman, a nephew of legendary Crestview resident and U.S. Congressman Bob Sikes, was elected to the City Council in March 2013. He resigned on Friday, citing a need to attend to personal matters.
